Our Mission

As a team of passionate student journalists, The Scituation staff values cultural humility. Through our writing, journalism projects, and interactions with the community, we are committed to diversity and equity, while promoting an inclusive school environment for all students, staff, and members of the community. We make a dedicated and conscious effort to encompass the entire student body, as well as the extended community, regardless of race, sex, religion, gender identity, socio-economic status, etc. The Scituation welcomes writing contributions from all students attending Scituate High School and encourages students to use this platform to let their voices be heard. This year, we are striving to advance anti-racism efforts within our publication, our school, and our surrounding community. It is our hope that the work of our student journalists will have the power to inspire positive change within Scituate and surrounding communities.

The Scituation is the Scituate High School newspaper.  Students taking Advanced Journalism and Introduction to Journalism primarily produce the content published on scituation.net. Members of the Advanced Journalism class make up the Scituation staff, which includes editors and writers. Members of the Introduction to Journalism class are contributing writers. In addition, any Scituate High School student may submit articles, opinion essays, photographs, or other appropriate pieces for publication.
