Environmental Club Hosts Movie Night this Sunday

Jane Naylor, Staff Writer

The SHS Environmental Club, advised by Ms. Hartweg and co-presidents Gabby Walsh and Patrick Sullivan, is eager to announce their next event: On Sunday, May 23rd, they will host a movie night. The club will show Dr. Suess’s The Lorax because of its theme of “speaking for the trees” and how it highlights the negative impacts of environmental destruction.

Prior to the start of the movie, the club has arranged for a “Trolley Dogs” food truck and Nona’s Homemade Ice Cream to serve families in the parking lot, starting at 6:00 p.m. In addition, a band will be playing. The club is looking forward to a lively evening filled with fun and entertainment. The movie will begin showing on the SHS turf at 8 p.m.

The club encourages anyone looking to attend to bring a blanket, wear a mask, and maintain proper social distancing etiquette.

The event is free, but all participants will need to pre-register. Families and people of all ages are invited. Please email [email protected] to register or for any questions!
