With their unique combination of talent, creativity, and dedication, the Scituate High School Drama Club members will perform The Miracle Worker on Friday, November 17th, and Saturday, November 18th, in the Performing Arts Center. Showtime is 7:00 PM for both evenings; tickets are $10 for students and staff and $12 for the general public.
The Miracle Worker, written by William Gibson, is a story of hard work and inspiration. It is based on the life of Helen Keller, a blind, deaf young girl, and her partially blind teacher, Anne Sullivan. According to drama club member SHS freshman Fiona Frost, “It [The Miracle Worker] is following their journey of learning how to communicate and giving Helen Keller a voice in the world. It’s kind of like the journey of this family and Annie coming together to find a miracle for Helen Keller.”
This production required extensive preparation by SHS actors, set crews, makeup and costume artists, sound technicians, and directors to create an enthralling show for the Scituate community. The Miracle Worker is sure to be a moving experience, and attending this weekend is a great way to express support and enthusiasm for the students and staff who have worked diligently to produce something spectacular.
