3A Cold Weather Cold Coffee Favorites

When people hear “winter drinks,” they often think of hot drinks. We explored the world of cold drinks, specifically iced coffees, on the local 3A strip. These personal opinion reviews feature Starbucks, Marylou’s, and Dunkin Donuts with two drinks from each location.

Dunkin Iced Toasted White Chocolate Mocha Latte

This flavorful, sweet, and creamy latte is one that leaves you wanting more! Out of 7 coffees, this Christmas special was rated the best. It can be served as iced or hot depending on your mood and cravings. With a score of 10/10, this signature holiday drink is described on the Dunkin app as “rich espresso and milk paired with creamy rich white chocolate flavor. Topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a dusting of cinnamon sugar for a festive, decked-out latte!” This drink 100% lives up to its expectations and is a must-try if you’re craving a cold winter treat!

Dunkin’s Cookie Butter Cold Brew

This new winter offering is just as delicious as the name sounds. A sweet cold brew blend that brings the homemade cookie taste to life with the brown sugar flavor. This rich drink ties in perfect harmony with the thick cookie butter cold foam. Topping it all off with a cookie crumble adds an unexpected change in texture. At the first sip, you get the crunch of the cookie and the sweetness of the foam, followed by a refreshing coffee splash.

Starbucks Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte

If you’re craving a sweet sugar cookie, this drink is the perfect one for you! The combination of sugar cookie-flavored syrup, Starbucks Blonde espresso, almond milk, and sprinkles over ice provides customers with nothing but satisfaction. This latte is definitely an acquired taste considering how sweet it is, but you can change the number of syrup pumps to satisfy your taste preferences. Even though this drink is expensive–coming in at $6.15 for a grande–it is worth the money if you’re looking for a sweet treat!

Starbucks Caramel Brûlée Latte

This local favorite during the winter season is filled with rich espresso, cream, and caramel syrup flavoring. Topped with whipped cream and toffee bits, this sweet winter treat would certainly satisfy any coffee craving. Though many prefer it hot, we tried it iced, and it definitely lived up to the hype. It has a long-lasting flavor that will leave you wanting more. For someone who enjoys sweet-flavored coffee, this is perfect for you!

Marylou’s Eggnog Iced Coffee

A new and interesting twist on iced coffee comes to life with Marylou’s eggnog-flavored iced coffee. This fan favorite is an interesting blend of hazelnut followed by an aftertaste of eggnog. It had a slightly bitter taste originally but was accompanied by the spice of eggnog. We ordered this cold brew with a splash of almond milk and sugar. Although none of us personally enjoy eggnog, causing us to dislike this coffee, others who enjoy eggnog liked the taste and rated it a 5 or 6 out of 10.

Marylou’s Toasted White Chocolate Mint Iced Coffee

This specialty flavor at Marylou’s takes a special combination of beloved flavors during the holiday season. It wasn’t too strong, but it had a nice taste. This drink was mostly overpowered by the mint addition to the flavor, but the coffee itself was a little bit watery. The white chocolate flavor slightly disappears as you keep drinking, and it becomes more of a regular mint flavor, but it’s still great for the winter! If you like a super sweet coffee, this may not be for you, but if you prefer a stronger coffee, try this specialty flavor!
