SHS Seniors Feeling Low About High Tops

April break brings perfect opportunity for redecorating at SHS

“The Stoop” high top tables were relocated during April vacation

As the end of the 2017-18 academic year at SHS approaches, interior design changes are being made by the SHS administration. The high top tables, typically reserved as a study space for SHS seniors, have been moved downstairs across from the library. Students made this surprising discovery as they returned from the April vacation week.

The high top tables were previously a “meet up” spot at “the stoop,” the open area between the elevator and the entrance to the main staircase on the second floor.

Seniors had been warned by the administration that teachers felt the high top area was a source of distracting noise. According to SHS staff, students who regularly occupied the high tops (at the stoop) were told to bring down the volume or else there would be consequences.

Moving the high tops downstairs, in close proximity to the main office, may resolve the noise disturbances issues; however, SHS seniors are disappointed in this turn of events.
