Furry Visitors Highlight Stress Less Week
January 8, 2019
On Tuesday, January 8th, approximately 200 SHS students spent time with four furry visitors to the high school. During one of the highlights of “Stress Less Laugh More Week,” licensed comfort dogs were available to students in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sponsored by the SHS counseling department, the week also includes face painting, positive music between classes, and inspirational messages posted around the building. Comfort dogs make another visit on Thursday, January 10th, and teachers will be encouraged to begin each class with a relaxation activity. The counseling department distributes mints that include strategies to reduce stress, and they also plan to show a SpongeBob SquarePants video during home base on Friday, January 11th.
