Junior Prom can be a stressful time. Whether it is coordinating an outfit, meeting friends for photos, booking appointments, or trying to save money to pay for everything, many pieces make up the big puzzle of Prom Day.
For the past couple of years, Scituate Community Christmas has come to the rescue, introducing an opportunity to relieve some of the stress of the process. According to Emily Anderson, who is a member of the Board of Directors, this assistance is for “students who need financial help with the cost of prom tickets and prom attire.” This newer initiative is forecasted to have a big impact at SHS, South Shore Vo Tech, and South Shore Charter Public School.
The process remains strictly confidential, convenient, and simple: visit https://scituatecommunitychristmas.org/ or scan the QR code on the flyer to access the form. Anderson explained that after students fill out the form, a member of the intake team will contact them.
This incredible opportunity is available due to the generosity of Scituate Community Christmas donors and community members.
This year’s prom aims to be an “Enchanted Night” on Friday, May 16th, at Granite Links in Quincy. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 24th. SHS students should listen to morning announcements for additional details.
