Playoffs Take Place

As the fall sports season comes to an end, High Schools playoffs are officially into full swing. Several different fall sports teams have been very successful throughout their regular season, however, the playoffs are where the great players can staple their names into the history books.

Most notably, Scituate High Schools football team is heading into their third week of the playoffs, and they have already played two intense games. On Friday, November 9th, they will face off against Canton, which will undoubtedly be a challenge.

After a hugely successful regular season, Scituate defeated Dennis-Yarmouth 28-27. The game ended in an unforgettable fashion, with a last-second touchdown and two-point conversion. The next week they moved onto Holliston, and handled this game much better, as they came out victorious once again 57-34.

“It’s obviously going to be a very exciting game to play in and to watch,” Junior Miles Bowker said. As a member of the football team, Bowker is clearly thrilled to be part of such a successful team. “Hopefully we can win this game and focus on what the next challenge will be,” he added. Many students of SHS will be in attendance on Friday night to watch a thrilling game.

Also, on November 7th, the Scituate High School boys soccer team will face off against Holliston, who football team coincidentally lost to Scituate football team the week before. SHS Soccer had already defeated Blue Hills with ease 6-0, but Holliston will be a more onerous task.

As Scituate High School students continue to work hard, other students will continue to cheer on their friends and classmates. As Junior Jack Kimball stated, “It is exciting to see a lot of my friends succeed in the playoffs. It proves the work they put in as a person, and as a team.”
