Joe Burrow vs. Patrick Mahomes

In the past few years, the NFL has been blessed with extraordinary talent from the quarterback position. Quarterbacks have evolved into athletic superstars with the ability to run, pass, and think quickly. Two of the hottest quarterbacks in the NFL right now are set to playoff against each other in the AFC championship for the second year in a row: Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes are two of the most talented and exciting quarterbacks in the NFL today. Both players have had a significant impact on their respective teams and have proven to be among the best in the league. However, when it comes to determining who is a better quarterback, it is a matter of personal opinion, and both players have their own unique set of skills and strengths that make them stand out.

Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, was the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He had a standout college career at LSU, where he won the Heisman Trophy and led the Tigers to a National Championship. In his rookie season, Burrow showed flashes of brilliance and proved to be a leader on and off the field. Despite suffering a season-ending injury, Burrow threw for 2,688 yards and 13 touchdowns, showing his potential to become one of the league’s top quarterbacks. He also showed his accuracy, completing 65.3% of his passes.

In his second season, Burrow truly had a breakout season with a 70% completion percentage, and an average of 8.9 yards per attempt. Burrow was able to lead his team to a win against Patrick Mahomes during the AFC Championship game. The Bengals just fell short of the Superbowl but they showed the rest of the league that they would be back.

On the other hand, Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the league and has already achieved a lot of success in his young career. He was the NFL MVP in 2018 and led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory in 2020. Mahomes has a unique skill set, with a powerful arm and the ability to make off-balance throws with ease. He is also known for his ability to improvise and make plays when the pocket collapses. He has shown to be a consistent performer, throwing for more than 4,500 yards in each of his first three seasons as a starter.

This year Mahomes has miraculously already thrown for 5,250 yards, the highest in the NFL, and with at least one more game to go well see how far he can push this number. Mahomes is also first in the NFL with touchdowns with a whopping 41 tds on the season, despite anyone’s opinion the numbers speak for themselves.

Mahomes might have the edge on Burrow with his achievements and stats, but don’t undermine Joe Burrow and his promising future in the NFL. Joe Burrow has proved time and time again that he can win against the all-powerful Chiefs, with his 3-0 record against Mahomes, looking to make it 4-0.
