David Stanley, Sports Editor / Staff Writer

Back for his second year with The Scituation, senior David Stanley (he/him) returns as one of the team’s sports editors. Eager to contribute more interesting sports stories to The Scituation, Stanley sees Honors Journalistic Writing as a means of enhancing his writing skills–especially since he would like to attend a college that offers a sports writing program. Known for being a kind, intelligent, and hard-working student, Stanley will make his last year with The Scituation one to remember.

Stanley’s strongest academic passion has always been in English and writing. Taking Introduction to Journalism during his sophomore year, he wanted to continue writing by contributing interesting and forward-thinking stories to this year’s publication.

Stanley’s hard work is shown through his academic achievements: Winning the biology award freshman year and earning high honor roll throughout his entire junior year, Stanley’s strong work ethic translates straight to the grid-iron with his love for football. His focus this year will be to make every sports team feels important and noticed in this year’s publication. In the future, Stanley has aspirations of becoming a sports journalist, finding a great deal of inspiration from longtime Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer, Jack Edwards. With solid experience and a passion for writing and sports, Stanley would like to elevate this year’s Scituation sports coverage.
