Emma Riedel, Co-Editor-In-Chief

Emma Riedel (she/her) is exhilarated to carry out her senior year at Scituate High School as a leader for The Scituation staff. Since taking Introduction to Journalism during her freshman year, she has enjoyed expressing her opinions through writing and feels especially skilled at editing, which is fitting for her new role as Co-Editor-in-Chief. Riedel hopes to utilize The Scituation to keep her fellow classmates and the community of Scituate informed.

Known for her impressive intellect, Riedel is an exemplary scholar. Taking several Advanced Placement courses this year, she is looking forward to her AP Human Geography and US Government classes to develop her passion for history and social sciences, which she wishes to pursue in college next year. Riedel has received multiple accolades for her academics, including the Dartmouth College Book Award during her junior year. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Foreign Language Honor Society, and the History Honor Society.

In addition to her responsibilities at The Scituation, Riedel holds several leadership positions at the high school. She is a coordinator for Allies Not Bystanders, the assistant stage manager for the SHS Drama Club, and a captain of the SHS Debate Team. She is also a member of Model UN–due to her interest in international affairs–and the Anti-Racism Club. Riedel’s welcoming and spirited personality, combined with her commitment and drive, make her a great collaborator and leader at SHS.
