Hayley McCarthy, Staff Writer
Ready for her final year at Scituate High School, senior Hayley McCarthy (she/her) is making her debut as a staff writer for The Scituation. Known among her peers as a genuine and hardworking student, McCarthy was interested in taking Honors Journalism because she is looking to branch out of her comfort zone and improve her writing skills. She also wants to maintain good grades and end her final year on a successful note.
McCarthy has academic interests in math, English, and Spanish–and she received an English award during her first three years at SHS. Showing a lot of versatility, she also has won athletic awards and managed to balance many extracurricular activities such as captain of the girls’ varsity hockey, softball, and soccer teams. McCarthy’s ability to balance athletics and academics is evident, which is why she hopes to potentially have a job involving sports in the future. She has her eyes set on the future and will be an excellent addition to the staff of The Scituation.
