Jake Linnell, Staff Writer
As an acting member of the Journalism Club at Scituate High School, senior Jake Linnell (he/him) is eager to continue journalism as a staff writer for The Scituation during the final year of his high school career. Linnell is excited to write about various issues at SHS and the community. Friends and former staff members inspired Linnell to take Advanced Journalism this year, and he hopes to improve his journalistic writing skills.
Described by his friends as friendly and hardworking, Linnell’s character and work ethic are evident through his election as class treasurer for the student government Class of 2025. He was also accepted into the History National Honor Society and has been the ski team captain since his sophomore year. Along with these impressive recognitions, Linnell is a head delegate for Model United Nations and has played baseball and golf all four years of high school. Academically, he enjoys history, and his favorite class was AP United States Government. Additionally, he enjoys public speaking and the English and writing classes he’s taken at SHS.
Outside of school, Linnell loves to travel. His most memorable adventures include a trip to Alaska two years ago and winter ski trips to Vermont with his family. He hopes to continue his travels in the years to come.
After high school, Linnell plans to attend a four-year university where he will study political science. He hopes to stay close to home for college and attend a school in the Northeast. It’s safe to say he has big aspirations and a bright future ahead of him.
For his senior year, Linnell is excited to apply to college, spend time with friends, and make the most of the year while taking in all the final moments and memories.
