With the changing weather, chilly Friday night football games and Halloween just around the corner, students have been searching for
drinks that fit the fall weather. With new seasonal drinks coming from the coffee shops you can find many different concoctions to satisfy your cravings.
Dunkin’ Donuts added a few new flavors to their menu for the fall season. The specials for the fall are apple cider, which you can get hot or iced, and the pumpkin flavor which comes in coffee or lattes.
Senior Caitlyn O’Hara ventured from her regular and tried the pumpkin coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. O’Hara did not enjoy the coffee saying it is “too sweet.” If you’re someone who doesn’t mind having extra sweetness in your coffee this may be the drink to try.
Starbucks offers three new flavors for the fall season: pumpkin spice latte, salted caramel mocha, and apple pie frappucino. All
three flavors seem very delicious.
The salted caramel mocha is presented well with a heaping of whipped cream that is drizzled with caramel and dashed with salt. The coffee itself is very good but the mocha is very strong with only a hint of caramel in the background. If you don’t like chocolaty drinks this may not be the fall drink for you.
Frequent Starbucks goer senior Shannon Brady says her new drink for the season is the cinnamon dolce latte. Although it is not on the fall Starbucks special menu, Brady says that it is a “nice fall brew and a strong drink.” She recommends to get the latte with whipped cream.
The well-known town coffee shop, Coffee Corner, also upgraded their menu adding two new fall flavors: caramel apple and pumpkin spice. Both coffees are only offered as hot coffees which makes sense considering how the cold weather is setting in. Senior Sophie Shillue, an employee at Coffee Corner, says that the Caramel Apple is “pretty good and it is a fun fall flavor.” Employees from Coffee Corner note how it is not the
top seller at the shop but it fits the fall mood.
Another town favorite, the bakery Morning Glories, also switched up their coffee menu for the fall. Morning Glories has added a pumpkin coffee. Many students at SHS have been raving about the new coffee and love the fresh fall flavor. Senior Haley Evans loves the coffee and buys one three to four times a week. She personalizes her pumpkin coffee by mixing it with hazelnut coffee. Evans says that the coffee is “a really good combo and a nice switch from [her] regular. It goes with [her] mood.” Evans recommends the coffee for anyone willing to try something new for
the fall.
This fall brings a chance to try new coffees and give your taste buds a splash of something new. No matter where you go to grab a coffee there will be new menu items and a chance to dive into the fall season.
