Nothing gets past Scituate’s goalie Bobby Sincoski. Whether it is on or off the field, Bobby is always showing up with his A game, respectfully earning his spot on the boys varsity soccer team junior year. This is Sincoski’s first year as a captain, along with Harry Berton and Brendan O’Neil. “At first I was not quite sure of my role, but now I think that Harry, Brendan and I do a really great job” said Sincoski.
One of Sincoski’s favorite parts of this year’s soccer experience was beating Whitman-Hanson, because the Sailors lost to them last year. Also it was a great boost for the team’s confidence, and it motivated them to win more games. Although the boys’ team did lose some valuable players that graduated last year, they added some talented new players as well. “I was afraid that we were not going to be as good, but a lot of underclassmen and juniors really stepped it up this year,” said Sincoski.
The Sailors never doubt the skill Sincoski has in the goal, and consider him the backbone of the team, stopping all the shots that come his way. Junior and fellow teammate Joe Daileader said, “Bobby is a leader in every aspect, and he always gives one hundred percent in the net.”
But all good things must come to an end, including Bobby’s final year as a Scituate Sailor. Sincoski said “just being with the group of kids” is what he will miss most about SHS soccer.
Sincoski is more than an exceptional goalie. He also competes for the SHS Wrestling team during the winter season. Next year Sincoski is considering attending Mass Maritime, and is unsure if he wants to play soccer or not.
Aside from being a dedicated athlete, Sincoski also has a hectic home life. He has three siblings, Ian, Jillian, and Sarah, and there is never a dull moment between the four. Sincoski also has two dogs, Blue and Will, that complete the family.
As an SHS student walking down the hall you would never guess Sincoski’s hidden talent: fixing things. Sincoski is fascinated by the idea of repairing something that is broken, whether it is something small like a doorknob, or anything bigger, Sincoski will be willing to help out with any odd job.
The soccer season is not over yet, so come attend a game, and cheer on Bobby and the rest of the Sailors. Do not forget to join the Pajama Boys and wear your favorite PJ’s, find your spot on the bleachers, and support the Sailors to another victory before the season comes to an end.
