High School students are always looking for new opportunities. Extracurriculars ranging from Student Council to sports to Drama Club all help students in the process of figuring out what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Here at Scituate High School, many students are using the new television studio to help shape their futures. Seniors Justin Power and Zach Brazao are the prime example of students using the T.V. studio to explore their interests in TV & Production. Power and Brazao are the creators, producers, and co-hosts of Scituate Community T.V.’s The Early Late Show. They produce the show in the TV studio in Scituate High School with the help of John Roser, the director of S.C.T.V. However, they are not the only people to utilize the studio.
The TV & Production class here at Scituate High School allows students to discover the TV studio and earn academic credit as well. Students learn how to film, edit and write entertaining videos that show hard work students put into the production process. Lauren Svensen, a sophomore who took the class said, “I learned a lot and worked with other people. I learned a lot of new ideas and ways to experience myself.” Students are able to learn a lot of different ways to use technology and express themselves while having fun as well. Another student who took the class, sophomore Meredith Sullivan said, “It was a very entertaining class and we did new things every day.”
