Standing next to the seaside docks of Marshfield, Polcari’s Bridgewaye Inn can make anyone from the South Shore feel at home. At night, the little restaurant looks warm and inviting as citizens are eagerly coming and going as it grows late. Inside the lights are dim, with scenery that borderlines a fancy restaurant, yet casual enough for any group of teens to dine at. There are televisions stationed in appropriate places, so if you’re eating alone you can be sure you won’t have to crane your head to get some entertainment.
The service was appropriately pleasant, intervening as soon as seats were taken to offer my peers and I some drinks. In no time, the waitress was back carrying with her some bread as an appetizer. Topped with sesame seeds, the white bread was fluffy and a particular delight to snack on. My friends and I enjoyed it so much that we even asked for a second loaf. Our meals came after an appropriate time interval for a busy Saturday night, roughly 25 minutes after we ordered.
The prices were slightly higher than your average restaurant, but nothing too expensive. I ordered some pasta and meatballs for $11.99, which seemed to be a fair price. It was delicious and tasted similar to pasta you might order at Bertucci’s. The people with me ordered grilled chicken, nachos, and a bowl of chili. The chicken was juicy, cooked right, and had some spices on top to add some extra flavor. So if you’re worried about getting your meat rare when your ordered well done, you needn’t worry at the Bridgewaye.
“The atmosphere was relaxing, the food enjoyable, and the service polite. I would definitely go there again.” Said Taylor Killion, senior.
The chips were toasted, and laced with a sufficient layer of fine cheese. Underneath the chips was a sufficient layer of meat, and then to everyone’s surprise, another layer of nachos. Overall, the food was enjoyable and I felt as if I got my money’s worth of fine dining.
The Bridgewaye is the perfect place to take your special someone if you want to enjoy a nice, romantic night out. There were no particularly rowdy customers despite the bar being located near our seating. Given the opportunity to visit The Bridgewaye again, I would accept without hesitation. Open every day for lunch at 11:30, 1265 Ferry StMarshfield.
